Celebrate International Women’s Day with Bel and Quinn, a Women-led ensemble that captivates audiences with their mesmerizing harmonies. The two sisters of Haitian origin sing in French, Creole, and English, bringing to life electrifying music that fuses Haitian rhythms with jazz and soul. The themes of self-acceptance and healing resonate with the public and envelop them with a comforting feeling.

Bel writes the lyrics while Quinn composes and arranges the songs brilliantly, in addition to establishing herself as a talented jazz guitarist. Committed to promoting female artists, the duo surrounds itself with some of Canada's most talented musicians, including award-winning drummer Salin Cheewapansri, award-winning saxophonist Beth McKenna and well-known tenor saxophonist Marie-Josée Frigon as well as trumpeter Josiane Rouette.

In a world that can be dark, Bel and Quinn compose songs that let in the light. Inspired by their respective struggles with anxiety and depression, the duo view songwriting as a healing force. The two sisters do not hesitate to talk about mental health, the struggles it involves, but also the path to healing. But above all, what Bel and Quinn offers with their music is a celebration. They invite music lovers to express themselves with confidence.

By embracing their voices as women, blacks and musicians, the duo stands out as leaders. Quinn's difficult academic journey in college inspired Bel and Quinn to write songs that celebrate women's strength. Jazz guitar is a predominantly male field. Quinn recovered from moments of humiliation and sexism that marked her tremendously during her studies. It was then that they decided to promote the talent of female musicians by inviting only women to perform with them. Members of Conseil Québécois de la musique (CQM), Bel and Quinn launched a very promising EP, Fanm nan dife, in September 2021. They have been invited to perform at numerous festivals, including Québec jazz en juin, Festival international Nuits d’Afrique and Haiti en folie.

They also participated in the popular show Belle et Bum, broadcast on Télé-Québec (2021). In 2022, during their showcase at the festival Vue sur la relève, the duo received nine awards which contribute to the development of the artists' careers.

In October 2023, the duo released their first album Donte sann yo. Funded by the Canada Council for the Arts (CAC), this project is produced by Salin Cheewapansri. With these new songs, they pay homage to their ancestors, to their mother, to the women who walked before them, but also to themselves.
